Obituary of Stanley McCoy
Stanley McCoy was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 18, 1953. He was the youngest of four children of the late J. C. and Lucy Mae McCoy. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 31, 2009, at his home in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.
When Stanley was a young boy, in 1967 he moved to Brooklyn, NY to reside with his older sister Quincella and attend high school. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, NY. Feeling homesick he moved back to Birmingham, Alabama and graduated Hayes High School in 1971.
Stanley was a very soft spoken man, who loved people and never cursed. He was very intelligent and loved to dance. If he really liked you, he would give you a smile. He worked in various exclusive restaurants in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Stanley loved the Lord. In 2005 he relocated to Pennsylvania to live with his sister Quincella Cobb and his brother-in-law Richard Cobb in Tobyhanna.
Stanley leaves to mourn his death his loving sister, Quincella and his brother-in-law Richard Cobb, a brother: Eugene McCoy; nephews: Eugene, Jr., Eugene III, Karl Anthony and his wife Theresa, Tyler McCoy, Jayshawn McCoy, Tyquan Davis, Kyronne Anthony, Donique Davis, Tyreek Davis, Arquall Davis, Joni Davis, Jaheem Davis, Kiliek Anthony, Jahness Davis and Rasheem McCoy; nieces: Tina Davis, Carmen Davis and her husband Philip, Stacey Pridgeon, Camelia McCoy, Takeisha Davis, James'e Davis, Shaqusha Davis, Kristina McCoy, Quiana Anthony, Taneyha Anthony, Taylaha Anthony, Aniah Davis, Tenaya Davis, Nihah Davis, Kimberly McCoy, Eugenia McCoy; cousins: Jeremy McCoy, Marley McCoy, Nina Pennington and her husband Victor, Elaine, Jeff, Doby, Daisey and Sharon; one aunt: Minnie B. Guice; brother-in-law: Steven Cobb and sister-in-law: Linda Cobb; friends: Melissa Johnson, Semier Johnson, Yolanda Mathews, Margaret Moore; and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed, may he rest in peace.
There will be a viewing on Friday, September 4, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley with a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
