Obituary of Kenneth Emswiler

Kenneth W. Emswiler, 72, of Blakeslee, lost his fight with cancer on January 1, 2011. He was the husband of Joan "Sam" (DeCoursey) Emswiler, his wife of 50 years. Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Clarence W. and Ruth (Pancoast) Emswiler. He lived most of his life in Bucks County and the past 13 years in Blakeslee, Pa. Until his retirement, Ken was employed for over 40 years in the heating and air conditioning business. He served in the U. S. Air Force for eight years. He loved playing golf with his sons and friends, and for the past 10 years playing on the Senior softball team. His favorite place to return to was always Bedford, VA. Ken has a good sense of humor and a witty way about him. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by two sons, David Emswiler and his wife Shirley of Swiftwater, Steven Emswiler of Blakeslee; a sister, Janice Roman of Royersford, PA; and a granddaughter, Amber Emswiler of Sellersville, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother Walter J. Emswiler and a sister, Ruth Anne Heimbach. No services will be held at this time. The family would like to express its thanks to all friends and neighbors for their kindness during this most difficult time.
