Obituary of Suzanne Fortescue

Suzanne B. Fortescue, 54, of Tobyhanna, died Wednesday, November 9 at home. She was the widow of Michael J. Fortescue, who passed away in 2004. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of Ruth (Sullivan) Barry of Tobyhanna and the late John R. Barry. Suzanne worked for Western Electric for a number of years before retiring from Verizon in 1994. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna; a member of the Pocono Farms Woman's Club and the Crime Watch Committee. In addition to her mother, Ruth, she is survived by three brothers, William and his wife, Sandra of RI, John and his wife, Sheila of SouthEast, MA. Richard and his wife, Eugenie of Belchertown, MA; two sisters, Linda Forand, SC, Jacqueline Swerling, Wellsley, MA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and her father, John R. Barry. The Reverend Father Ron Hughes will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14 at St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. Private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390 in Paradise Valley.
