Obituary of Jane Newhart

Jane M. Newhart, 73, of Pocono Summit, died Sunday, September 4 at Mercy Hospice in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. Newhart, who passed away in 2003. Born in Moscow, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Petrick) Lesh. Jane was cafeteria manager for the Pocono Mountain School District. She was a member of the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church, where she was a communion visitor, a member of the United Methodist Women, and former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Friends of Clymer Library. She is survived by two sons, David Newhart of Pocono Summit, Christopher Newhart of Tannersville; three brothers, William Lesh of Madisonville, John Lesh of Milford, Delaware, Gary Lesh of Pocono Pines; one sister, Lucille Newhart of Lake Ariel, and two grandchildren, Jared Newhart of Pocono Summit, Laura Newhart of Tannersville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ames. Pastor John Charnock will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 9 at the Bolock Funeral Home, routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Burial will follow at the Pocono Lake Cemetery in Pocono Lake. There will be a calling hour from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
