Obituary of Richard Kness

Richard Kness, 70, of Cresco, died Thursday, September 1 at home. He was the husband of the late Joann (Grillo) Kness. Born in Rockford, Illinois, he was the son of the late Harry and Helen (Kern) Kniess. He was a United States veteran of both the Navy and the Army. He was a Tenor with the Metropolitan Opera. Richard will be very much missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by two sons, Paul Kniess, and his wife Michelle of San Diego, California, John Kniess and his wife Valentina of Brooklyn, New York; and a daughter, Kristen Ryan and her husband Raub of San Francisco, California. The Reverend Father Henry Zapotocki will celebrate a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6 at St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis. Cremation services were entrusted to Bolock Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley.
