Obituary of Lillian Smith

Lillian (Mader) Smith, 73, of Henryville passed away on Saturday, February 3 at 7:27 AM at Hazelton General Hospital from complications of a hernia surgery on September 13, 2006. She was the beloved wife of the late Alvin Smith, owner of Alvin's Log Cabins, who passed away in April 2000. Born on March 27, 1933 in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Jennie (Freeland) Mader of Henryville. A graduate of Pocono Township School, she was a lifetime resident of Pocono Township, Monroe County. She was a very special lady, loved by many and will be missed very much. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Hineline and her husband, Richard of Henryville, Connie Simpson and Diane Smith of Long Pond; two sons, Joseph and Roger Smith of Long Pond; eight grandchildren, Cindy Hineline, Donna Rehm, and her husband Dwayne, Kim Rice and her husband, Robert, Amy Simpson, William Simpson, Jennie and Joshua Salls, Lance Corporal Jeremy Smith of the US Marines; two great grandchildren, Nichole Radzierez and Robert Rice III; sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith, Margie Woehrle, Edna Baldwin, Naomi Jocsak, Mary Smith, and brothers-in-law, Earl Smith and Deward Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Mader of Swiftwater. The Reverend Thomas Richards will conduct a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390 in Paradise Valley. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
