Wendy and I express our sympathys to this horrible occurance. We still can't really face reality to this happening. Its so hard to think that just last summer we were at Elenas mothers house and all the fun memories we all shared out on the back deck, drinking martinis and smoking ciggarettes. Elena I am so proud of you that you graduated, you just gave me something I want to do now. Im so sorry this had to happen to someone as beautiful as you. You didnt deserve this and I keep thinking what if we still lived up there, this would have never happend I would have killed him before, I would have jumped in the crossfire.

I am very sorry for your loss. I regret that, as peers now, Elena and I will not have an opportunity to share a close friendship. It was a pleasure having Elena in my class. She often shed light on what was going on in the class and for a "new" teacher that is often a face saving thing. She was a very talented, caring young lady. She made a T-shirt with diseases on it for a project and when I raved about it she made one for me (in the right size, with all the right body parts, in the right places). I will treasure both T-shirts forever. Every time I teach anatomy of the human body I will wear my T with pride and love. Very few students touch me the way Elena has. I am privileged to have known her. I'm sure you are very proud that you contributed to such a talented, bright (her grades were consistently very good), loving child. God Bless "Miss O" (Nancy)

My deepest sympathies to all of Elena's family. I was Elena's lab instructor, and her clinical instructor. I truly enjoyed Elena in the clinical setting, she had a wonderful comfort level when talking to and caring for patients. Elena could take the grumpiest patient and have them eating out of her hand. She would have made an incredible nurse. Rosemary Perini

Elena the positive effects you had on so many shall forever remain in our hearts, minds and souls. Your Spirituality and outspoken respect for ALL life forms was as infectious as your laughter. Always the proud and wonderful Mother, you instilled these same beautiful qualities in your four beautiful children(whose pictures completely adorned your Nursing notebook for all to see). Thanks to you the simple mention of "Phagocytosis" always has and always will bring on contagious laughter because "you couldn't help it, you just LOVED that word!" Though now bittersweet, the laughs will still come but we'll share them in spirit. You were the life of the class, a fabulous Nurse and creator of many fun memories. As you loved that word, Elena so did we love you.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway If tears could build a stairway, and memories were a lane. We would walk right up to the heaven, and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only GOD knows why. Our hearts still ache in sadness, and many tears will flow. What it meant to lose you, no one can ever know. But now we know you want us, to mourn for you no more. To remember all the happy times, life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, we pledge to you today. A hallowed place within our hearts, is where you'll always stay. Iris
