Obituary of Laurene Davis

Laurene H. Davis, 98, of Swiftwater, died on Friday, June 22 at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home in Kunkletown where she was a resident. She was the wife of the late Walter Davis. Born in Swiftwater, she was the daughter of Lewis C. and Katie Elizabeth (Warner) Heckman. She was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School Class of 1927. A life-long resident of Swiftwater, she was a very active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and many other various organizations in her lifetime. She is survived by a son, Lewis R. (Skip) Davis and his wife, Ellen of Swiftwater; a grandson, Andrew L. Davis of Hazelton; a granddaughter Jessmyn A. Davis of Southampton; great grandson, Jacob of Southampton; nephew, M. Kenneth Heckman, Jr. and his wife, Alice of Plymouth, MA; niece, Joanne Blyler of Deluth, MN; many other cousins and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, M. Kenneth Heckman. The Reverend Nevin Kershner will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Interment will follow the service in St. Paul's Cemetery.
