Obituary of Donald Buchter

Donald M. Buchter, 76, of Cresco, died Monday, December 11 at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Betty (Simonson) Buchter. Born in Brickerville, Pa. on September 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Victor and Fannie (May) Buchter. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he was trained as an electrical engineer. He continued that work until he retired from the aerospace industry. In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by one son; David Buchter of Cresco, one daughter; Lori Jo Francis of East Stroudsburg; two step-sons; Patrick Mace of Cottage Grove, MN and Terry Mace of Alexandria, MN; one step-daughter; Randi Jambor of Tobyhanna; one brother; David Buchter of Lititz; two sisters; Erla Perina of Fredricksberg, VA and Betty Ruth of Intercourse; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Buchter and two sisters, Ella May Winters and Dorothy Diem. There will be a viewing on Sunday, December 17 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home corner of Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Alfred Vito will conduct a Blessing Service on Monday, December 18 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
