Obituary of Nicholas Cannon
Nicholas Paul Cannon, 2 , of Paradise Valley, was granted his angel wings on Friday, January 26, 2007, following his yearlong battle with brain cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends that Nich had touched so profoundly in such a short time.
Nicholas' life would seem too short to many, but those whom he touched understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time that one lives. His remarkable smile and impish playful ways melted the hearts of those around him.
Nich had support from many family and friends during his hard fight. Their love and hard work was inspirational and continues to give us all the strength to persevere.
The many caregivers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia gave Nich more than treatments and therapy; they showed him compassion and gave him laughter at a time of fear and pain. We cannot express the gratitude and love we feel and will always remember all of them. Dr. Belasco and Nurse Deb "The Great" McAleer will forever be in our prayers.
Nicholas is survived by his mother, Loretta Cannon of Paradise Valley; maternal grandparents Paul and Geri Cannon of Paradise Valley; his father, David L. Keiper, Grandmother, Anna Keiper; brothers; David, Daniel, and Andrew Keiper of Scranton. His many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout Pennsylvania will also mourn his passing. Nicholas was preceded by his paternal grandfather, Lester A. Keiper, who waits to greet him.
The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30 at St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Pocono. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery in Paradise Valley.
There will be a viewing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, January 29 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley.
