Obituary of Mary Johnson

Mary D. (Mann) Johnson, 61, of Henryville, died Thursday, June 11 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Don Johnson. Born in Great Bend, Kansas, Mary was the daughter of the late Howard James and Margaret (Elrod) Mann. She graduated from Eden High School in Eden and from Fredonia State University , Fredonia, NY. Mary loved animals and supported many animal shelters; she was of the Protestant Faith. In addition to her husband Don, Mary is survived by a son Paul Hardy, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Dunbar, Pa; a daughter Lisa Achtyle and her husband Kenneth of Eden, NY; a brother James Mann, Jr. of Tennessee and a Sister Sherri Jinks of Virginia. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Carol Monico. There will be a visitation on Saturday, June 20 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Dr. Sherrie L. Sneed, Director of Pastoral Care at Pocono Medical Center, will conduct a memorial service at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Mary's memory to your local animal shelter.
