Obituary of Donald Macavia
Donald A. Macavia, 72, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 13 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Joanne I. Harrison-Macavia.
Born in Irvington, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Peter and Lucille (Ballatieri) Macavia.
Donald was a self-employed tile contractor. He also toured for twelve years on weekend rodeos on the East Coast from Maine to Louisiana, where he rode bulls and bareback horses. He owned Willow Creek Farm. He was a past member of the Sons of Italy.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy Braun-Robinson and her husband, Kenneth of Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Phyllis Weston, and her husband John of Cranford, NJ; sister-in-law, Marie Macavia of Tobyhanna; granddaughter, Melissa Braun of Tucson, Arizona and her husband Adam; great granddaughter, Mia McClellan of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Deacon David Bechtel of St. Mary's of the Mount Church will conduct a Blessing Service at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory. There will be a viewing from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
