Obituary of Donald Vande Velde

Donald R. Vande Velde, 71, of Pocono Summit, died Saturday, July 7 at the VNA Hospice House of Monroe County in Smithfield Twp. He was the husband of Catherine (Levendakes) Vande Velde. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Julius and Irene (Bednarcik) Vande Velde. Donald was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Mt. Pocono. He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family most of all. In addition to his wife Catherine, Donald is survived by one son, Donald R. Vande Velde II of Landing, NJ, three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Monday, July 9th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. The Reverend Father Joseph Kopacz will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 10 at 10:00 am at St. Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Mt. Pocono. Cremation will follow the mass at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
