Obituary of Joseph Litwienski

Joseph V. Litwienski, Jr., 67, of Long Pond, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 in Tobyhanna Township. He was the husband of Carol "Cookie" (Toryak) Litwienski. Born in Plains, he was the son of the late Joseph V. and Tillie (Kempko) Litwienski. Before his retirement, he was a locomotive engineer for the steel industry in New Jersey. He was a member of Our lady of the Lake Church in Pocono Pines. Joseph was very active in the Emerald Lakes community. He loved sports and fishing. In addition to his wife, Cookie, he is survived by a son, Joseph V. Litwienski III and his wife, Carol of Bloomsbury, New Jersey; a mother-in-law, Helen Toryak of Gouldsboro; and many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The Reverend Father Joseph Boyle will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Pocono Pines. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg. There will be a viewing at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
