Obituary of Clifford Stout
Clifford D. Stout, Sr., 84, of Pocono Lake, died Wednesday, August 17 at home. He was the husband of the late Emily Mae (Berger) Stout.
Born in Pocono Lake, he was the son of the late David Major and Mable M. (Wolbert) Stout. Clifford attended Pocono Lake Schools and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a forklift operator at both Worthington Mower in Stroudsburg for 15 years and prior to retiring, the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 20 years. Clifford owned and operated Stouts Mower Service in Pocono Lake and during the summer operated a tractor, mowing the roadsides for Tobyhanna Twp. He enjoyed fishing and hobby farming. For 35 years, Clifford toured the Pocono Region with his band, Cliff Stout and the Pocono Pioneers and he also called for many square dances in the area.
Clifford is survived by his two sons: Kenneth Edward Stout and Cliff D. Stout, Jr.; his five grandsons: David E., Jason M., Craig S., Robert and Wesley Stout; his great-grandchildren: Angelina Yates and Julian Marie Metzger; his many nieces and nephews including Margaret Singer and David Martin, who were close to him. He was preceded in death by his wife: Emily Mae and his sister: Alice Fogel.
There will be a viewing on Friday, August 19 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Bolock Funeral Home, route 940 in Cresco. Interment will follow in Pocono Lake Cemetery.
