Obituary of Rose Owens

Rose Owens, 70, of Pocono Pines, died Wednesday, July 14, at Mercy Hospice in Scranton, Pa. She was the loving wife of Eugene J. Owens Sr., to whom she was married for 53 years. Born and raised in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Kate Karas. Rose was a member and attendee of St Ann's Roman Catholic Church located in Tobyhanna, Pa. Rose was employed by Paradise Stream Resort for more than 32 years and served as a loyal and dedicated team member due to her strong work ethic and selfless commitment to service. Her children and those she has worked with over the years will always remember her love and spunk for life. In addition to her husband, Eugene, she is survived by four sons, Eugene Owens Jr., Raymond Owens and Timothy Owens, all of Pocono Pines, Anthony Owens of San Antonio, Texas, and a daughter, Patricia Owens of Wayne, N.J.; including seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at the Bolock Funeral Home. The Rev. Father Joseph Kopacz will conduct a blessing service at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, as Rose is a wife, mother and grandmother of several immediate family members who served our country during war time.
