Obituary of Lawrence Skiba
Lawrence Skiba, 44, of Leesburg, Va formerly of Mountainhome, died Saturday, August 19 in Mountainhome.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of Miriam (Berrios) Skiba and the late Eugene Skiba. Lawrence worked as a tool and die maker at Weiler Brush for 15 years before moving to Virginia to complete school for aircraft and powerplant mechanics. He was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Mountainhome.
In addition to his mother, Lawrence is survived by three brothers; Michael Skiba and his wife Candace of Beverly Hills, Fl, Paul Skiba and his wife Traci of Mt. Airy, Md, and Gene Skiba and his wife Tanvi of Leesburg, Va; a sister Yolanda Jakubowski of Piscataway, NJ, 3 nephews, Dean, Michael and Dhyllan Skiba; 2 nieces; Rachel and Izabelle Skiba.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother in law, John Jakubowski.
The Reverend Father David Cramer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 25 at St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis. Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday, August 24 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley.
