Obituary of Dorothy Kice

Dorothy Etta Kice, 88, of Paradise Valley, passed away on Tuesday, November 2 at Brookmont Healthcare Center in Effort. Dorothy would have been 89 on November 27. She was the wife of the late Elmer Kice, Jr., who passed away on October 19, 1980. Born in Paradise Valley, she was the daughter of James and Minnie (Switzgable) Getz. She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. Dorothy was the Head Housekeeper at Crescent Lodge in Paradise Valley for over 27 years. She was a member of Keokee Chapel, where she served as a greeter. Dorothy was a dedicated member of the Willing Workers. Her hobbies included needlework, reading and gardening. She is survived by two sons, Richard Kice and his wife, Priscilla of Cresco, Donald Kice and Donna Dunlap of Skytop; grandchildren, Randy, Russell, Morgan Christopher, Dean Kice, and Jamie Gerold; and great-grandchildren, Madison and Timothy. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Mary Sebring, Albert Getz, Harold Getz, Mildred Goucher, Elsie Rinker, and LuLu LeBar. The Reverend Wayne Pratt will conduct a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 4 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
