Obituary of John Hansen

John L. Hansen, 84, of Henryville, passed away on Monday, December 6 at the Slate Belt Nursing Center in Bangor. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Edmunds) Hansen. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Sigurd and Bertha (Holst) Hansen. Before his retirement, John was the owner and Broker of Century 21, Hansen Goodman Real Estate and Insurance in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Cherry Lane Methodist Church in Tannersville. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to take care of his yard. He is survived by three sons; John Hansen of New Lisbon, NJ, Robert Hansen of Green, NJ, Michael Hansen of Stockholm; a daughter, Barbara Hansen of Hamburg, NJ; one brother, George Hansen of Lafayette, NJ; three step children, Donald Pierce of Morris Plains, NJ, Deborah Tell of Henryville, Susan Ebler of Parsippany, NJ; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Hansen, and a brother Ralph Hansen. There will be a viewing on Thursday evening, December 9 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, Rt. 940 in Cresco. The Reverend Robert Amundsen will conduct a funeral service on Friday, December 10 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery.
