Obituary of Edith Michaelsen

Edith M. (Diemer) Michaelsen, 76, of Blakeslee died Wednesday, August 15 at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of John C. Michaelsen, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage on April 1st. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Haas) Diemer. After graduating high school, Edith worked in various positions throughout the New York City Area; these included a supervisor for the New York City Telephone, a loan supervisor for the Lincoln Savings Bank, and the Executive Secretary for Beneficial Financial. After moving to the Pocono's she was employed in Ticket Sales for the Pocono Raceway. In addition to her husband, Edith is survived by one son: Eric J. Michaelsen of Blakeslee; one daughter: Karen Michaelsen of Lorton, VA and one granddaughter: Kelsey Michaelsen of Blakeslee. She was preceded in death by a son: John C. Michaelsen III, who passed away in January of 2006. Cremation services were entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory, routes 940 & 390, Paradise Valley.
