Obituary of Ervin Kirby
Ervin W. Kirby, 75, of Greentown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at home. He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Johnson) Kirby.
Born in West Pittston, he was the son of the late Charles Kirby, Jr. and Mary (Wilkinson) Kirby.
Prior to his retirement, he was an electrical design engineer at a nuclear power plant. After his retirement, he worked for his own firm, KED Enterprises of Greentown as an electrician.
He was a member of the Hemlock Grove United Methodist Church in Newfoundland.
He is survived by a son, Richard Kirby of Greentown; a daughter, Nancy Best and her husband, Richard of Tannersville; five grandchildren, Daniel Best, United States Navy, currently serving in Japan, Ashley Hopkins of Stroudsburg; Nicole Best of Tannersville, Carolyn Kirby of Philadelphia, Michael Kirby, United States Marine Corp, of New Jersey; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Burial Park in Harding.
There will be a viewing on Friday, July 14 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
