Obituary of Alice MacIver

Alice M. (Altemose) MacIver, 91, of Stroudsburg died Wednesday, July 12 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Murdock MacIver. Born in White Oak Run, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Cora (Transue) Altemose. Alice graduated from Pocono Twp. High School. Before retiring, she worked at J.C. Wannamakers in Center City Philadelphia as a department manager. She attended the Grace United Church of Christ in Tannersville. She is survived by four granddaughters: Karla Anderson of Kansas, Mona Haschak, Abbie Hennings, and Lisa Kennedy, all of Scotrun; a brother, Russell Altemose of Swiftwater; a sister, Pearl Mackes of Bangor; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Bonser and four sisters, Florence Altemose, Frances Stettler-Lincoln, Ida Keller, and Ruth Berger. The Reverend Bernd Weishaupt will conduct a funeral service on Monday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Cremation will follow the service. There will be a viewing from 1:00 p.m. pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
