Obituary of Frances Mikula

Frances H. "Becky" Mikula, 79, of Tobyhanna, died on Saturday, July 15 2006 at Roosevelt Care Center in Edison, NJ. She was the wife of the late Andrew R. Mikula, who passed away in 2000. Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Anusvewski) Sacko. She resided in Colonia, NJ for many years, before moving to the Pocono area 20 years ago. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Pocono Summit, where she volunteered preparing ethnic foods, passing on the tradition to the younger church members. She was also a member of the Pocono Mountain Quilters Guild, and the PCP Seniors. She is survived by a son, Robert Andrew Mikula of Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Helene Dougan of Edison, NJ; a brother, Joseph Sacko of South Plainfield; a sister, Marion Mariucci of Wildwood, FL; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and John Sacko, and a sister, Dorothy Skrupka. There will be a visitation on Monday, July 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Ave (Rt. 27) Metuchen, NJ. A local viewing will be Tuesday, July 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Parastas take place at 10:30. Divine Liturgy will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Pocono Summit. Private interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
