Obituary of Helga Szczepanski

Helga K. (Foelsing) Szczepanski, 69, of Blakeslee, died Friday, October 1, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp. She was the wife of Edward F. Szczepanski, Sr. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Katherina (Whistler) Foelsing. Helga was a member of Christ the King Church in Blakeslee. In addition to her husband, Ed, she is survived by her son: Edward F. Szczepanski, Jr and her daughter: Karen E. Valentine and her husband William; two sisters: Frieda Bayer and Anne Carter and her five grandchildren: Eddie and Andrew Szczepanski and William, Stefan and Samantha Valentine. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, October 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Cresco. Rev. Mr. Gregory F. Loughney will conduct a Blessing Service at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow at the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
