Obituary of Lawrence Wharton

Lawrence W. Wharton, Jr., 59, of Pocono Lake, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. Wharton Sr. and Rose (Mulcahy) Wharton. He retired in 1999 as a supply clerk for the Naval Publications and Forms Center at the Philadelphia Naval Depot. He served in the Vietnam Era in the United States XVIII Airborne Corps. He is survived by a sister, Monica Money and her husband, Elmer of Pocono Lake; three nephews, Elmer Money, Jr., Kevin Money and James Money; and one niece, Colleen Snyder. There will be a viewing from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23 at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. A Blessing Service will be conducted at 11:00 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Thornhurst Volunteer Fire Co., HC1 Box 125a, River Road, Thornhurst, PA 18424
