Obituary of Langdon Fridie

Langdon Fridie, Jr., 70, of Long Pond, formerly of New York City, died September 2, 2011 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. Born in Bronx, NY he was the son of the late Langdon and Dorothy J. (Green) Fridie, Sr. Langdon was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Military Policeman during Peacetime. He later worked for the New York City Transit as a track worker for many years until his retirement on June 2, 2007. Before becoming employed by the City of New York, Lenny his stage name, played the conga drums in the band, The Jimmy Castor Bunch and the group earned a gold record for the recording "Troglodyte". The "Bertha Butt Boogie", "Hey Leroy" and "Potential", were heard daily on the radio during the late 60's and early 70's. Google the Jimmy Castor bunch to see and hear them play. Len was a bowler and bowled in several leagues in Monroe County. He is missed the lanes. He is survived by two daughters, Chiniza Davis of Brooklyn, NY, Dawn Fridie of Florida; a sister, Meredith (Fridie) Stanfield and her husband John of Long Pond, PA; a brother Steven Thomas Fridie of New York, NY; three grandchildren, Candice Piercey, Dorian Johnson, Rachel Johnson; two uncles, Gerald Green, Kenneth Green; four aunts, Mildred Green Fridie, Dorothy Fridie Strain, Gwendolyn Green grant, Gwendolyn Fridie Pelton, and numerous cousins, too many to name. Susan E. Fridie, cousin and sister, thanks for all that you did. Cremation was entrusted to the Bolock Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
