Obituary of Iona Sallust

Iona E. Sallust, 98, of Newfoundland, died Saturday, August 21 at Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Fredrick Sallust. Born in Aristes, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Pearl (Hoffman) Hampton. Before her retirement, she was a nurse. Iona is survived by a son: Gilbert Sallust of Newfoundland; a daughter: Louise Sallust also of Newfoundland; grandchildren: Mark Sallust and his wife, Annette of Tobyhanna, Julie Sallust of Tobyhanna and Dawn Siclri and her husband Robert of Long Pond; two great grandchildren: Mark and Carmine Sallust both of Tobyhanna. She was preceded in death by her son: John Sallust; two sisters: Effie Hampton and Barbara Thorton and her grandson: Joseph Sallust. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, August 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Reverend Zelma Johnson will conduct a funeral service at 8:00 pm. on Tuesday, August 24 at the funeral home. Interment will be held on Wednesday, August 25 at 10:00 am at the Pine Grove Cemetery in South Sterling.
