Obituary of William Kurkowski

William J. Kurkowski, 26, of Canadensis, died Tuesday, September 14 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Barrett Township. Born in Huntington, Long Island, New York, he was the son of John H. and Gretchen (Dahm) Kurkowski of Canadensis. William was employed as a waiter as the Crescent Lodge in Paradise Valley. An enthusiast of art and music, he played guitar, drums and keyboard. He was a member of Canadensis United Methodist Church in Canadensis. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, John Kurkowski of Long Island, Michael Kurkowski of Canadensis; a sister, Danielle Kurkowski of Long Island; two nieces, Olivia Hancock and Sophia Kurkowski; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Isabella and William Zieve and Marion and Bob O'Neil; and great grandparents, Harold and Chub Besecker. There will be a viewing on Thursday, September 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley and on Friday, September 17 at the Canadensis United Methodist Church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Reverend George Alt will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Private cremation will follow the service.
