Obituary of Nancy J. Werkheiser
Nancy J. Werkheiser, 74, of Pocono Pines, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Fla. She was the loving wife of Wesley W. Werkheiser to whom she had been married for 51 wonderful years.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Georgina (Forsyth) Barbour.
Nancy graduated from Wagner College School of Nursing with honors in 1962. She worked in several nursing positions, the last being a school nurse for 25 years for the Roselle Park School District.
She enjoyed reading books, quilting, her book club and several social clubs and golf at the Lake Naomi Club.She will be missed greatly by her family and friends because of her kindness, loving nature and love of life.
In addition to her husband, Wes, she is survived by her son, David Werkheiser and his wife, Amy of Scotch Plains, N.J.; daughter, Laura Hancock and her husband, Paul of Brookfield, CT; brothers, Robert Barbour and his wife, Angie of Downers Grove, IL and Kenneth Barbour and his wife, Marjorie of Merritt Island, Fla.; sister in law: Connie and her husband, Jere Young of Newton Square, PA; six grandchildren; Andrew, Kristina and Kim Hancock, Carly, Kelsey and Alex Werkheiser and seven loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, PA. A service will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 16 at the Salem United Church of Christ, 108 Church Street, Pocono Pines.
