It will be fifty years this November 2011 that I have known George. We spent many hours together on patrol in the 120th Precinct. I find it hard to put into words my love and feeling for this man. We laughed together and had some difficult times on the “job”. On the day I came to the precinct, there were no lockers available, but George –having just met me- said, “share my locker – here’s the combination for the lock”. That’s the kind of man he was – always willing to share. I have always looked up to him for advice and so enjoyed being with him. George had no airs and was down to earth. I have so many stories of times we had together that made us laugh and times that were sad, and the world we saw that made us appreciate our lives and our family. George had a love for Mary and his children, I know because he always spoke about them and always had them on his mind. The guys would always tease George about how he would say “Oh, Mary, Mary’. Please accept my condolences to the Papa family for your loss. I will miss George.
