Obituary of Ruby A. Bakke

Ruby E. Bakke, 92, of Pocono Summit, died peacefully, on Thursday, March 22, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Stroudsburg. She was the loving wife of the late Leif A. Bakke. Born in Metropolis, IL she was a daughter of Fred and Lena Meinders. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She treasured the memories and the moments that she shared with her family. She was member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Mount Pocono and the Women’s Auxillary VFW Post # 3448. She is survived by her son: Eric Bakke of Stroudsburg; brothers: Wayne Meinders, Lester Meinders; a sister: Florence Korte; a grandson: Eric Lear and his wife Janet and great grandchildren: Liam and Delilah Lear. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Darlene Bakke and a sister, Virgie Hausman. Pastor Peter A. Richert will conduct a funeral service on Monday, March 27 at 11am at the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. A viewing will be held from 9am until the time of services at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Moscow.
